my cycling coaching journey

"Nearly three years ago, I suffered a major illness which left me not quite the same.  My previous focus on cycling is what I used to get my fitness and general outlook back, but I just didn't know how best to do get there.  Whilst I read lots on getting cycling fit, they were all by, and for, elite athletes, I had no way of knowing how to apply it to me.  Andy, through Sisu Fitness, provided me with very practical guidance on how to start, and how to progress, taking my personal situation into account and "re-calibrating" when needed.  He helped me set goal and progress towards them.  Celebrating the achievements of the goals is also something Andy is helping me with as I tended to move on too quickly.  Our catch-up is all about me and how I'm working through the program and achieving new goals.  The results so far are great.  I've achieved a number of great goals including back racing, increased my confidence, cycling knowledge and had some celebration along the way.  I have lots more to achieve, and lots more to celebrate so my relationship with Andy is sure to grow."

rapid progress

It has been my good fortune over the past 6 months to have had Andy as my personal trainer/cycling coach as I am extremely pleased with my results. Since training under him I have improved my race times by over 25% during this period.

I have found Andy to be a dedicated professional who is genuinely concerned about the physical well being of his clients.  He possesses a strong understanding of physiology and cycling which has been of great benefit particularly in the areas of program development and ensuring I fit my bike properly.  In addition he has been happy to share his wealth of tactical and racing cycling knowledge which has been highly useful under race conditions.

Since working with Andy, I have noticed a marked improvement in my cycling ability due to an overall increase in strength and aerobic capacity and all round muscle definition. At age 42 I very much doubt I could have achieved my cycling goals without his assistance.  During week 24 I successfully climbed Mount Macedon (southern side) which was the hardest 25 minutes I have ever spent on a bike and something I never thought I would achieve or even attempt.

In short, I believe anyone who is serious about improving their overall health/fitness or would like to take up cycling in a serious way then Andy is the person you should have on your team.
